Where The River Meets The Road

It has been raining heavily and steadily here for days. On my way to work this morning, I noticed that the river, which is usually nowhere near the road, was churning very near the road. In fact, the river was eating the road, not washing over it. This road is the only road that goes to the Farm. As soon as I was in range, I got on the horn and called Jackie. Less than two hours later, she and her partner had moved ten horses down to his ranch and I was hurrying to get Cooper and some essentials from my apartment. I'm scared.
Seeing the roiling cauldron of the usually gentle upper Sandy like this has given me good perspective. We could have been hurt or stranded. That road could have given up as I drove to work this morning.
We are all safely at the Man Ranch, for an indefinite period of time. Lots of folks are being evacuated, and some people have lost their homes. The rain hasn't let up, and Jackie and I are hoping we will be able to get back to the farm soon. The road is gone.

O dear. No road eating rivers for to eat my Zetta and Cooper. Please stay safe and keep us posted. Good dry thoughts your way.

wow, crazy talk. i hope you and the puppy and the horses and jackie and everyone else is allright.

when i hear stuff like this, of rivers eating roads and whatnot, it kinda makes me feel like, everything's going to be okay, in the very end. mother nature will take back this planet one way or another.

in the meantime, be safe missy.

btw, the sky cleared up enough tonight that i got to see the shiny moon--did the rain mellow out on the mountain too?

I believe the words I'm looking for are in the category of Holy Shit!! I've been hearing that the coastal cities are being hit hard too!
