Rotten Newsflash

Our beautiful dog, Loki, is very sick. She hasn't been eating as much as usual for awhile, and she's been listless. On Tuesday I noticed that her sclera were yellow, and rushed her to the vet immediately. They kept her overnight and put her on IV fluids and ran 7363545840 tests, which cost us 29282726483030 million dollars. All of her bloodwork was dead-on normal, with the obvious exception of her liver enzymes, which were significantly elevated. They did some radiography, which was also inconclusive.
Today the VBM has taken her to a $pecialist, who is doing ultra$ound to visualize her organs.
I am sick with worry over this. I can't cope very well with the thought of losing the very good friend I have in her. Last night she eagerly ate her dinner, which was a joyous thing to behold. Today, while we weren't supposed to feed her before her tests, she did ask for food. Her eyes are still yellow. I have her on the herbs we give hepatitis patients when they get yellow, but beyond that I am at a loss about what to do for her.
Send her your best mojo.

I am sad for you and VBM and Loki. It's hard to think about possibly losing someone you love so much. I'm sending all my good thoughts. Maybe she will just perk up and get better....
Pets are as much family as any humans - maybe more so. I am hurting with you - have been there several times.

Sending big time positive juju.

Consider possible environmental causes, especially any recent pesticide use in the area, even slug bait can cause damage of the liver. Conversely, this might be some sort of hepatitis A like condition, if so it should pass relatively quickly.

Still, much healing energy in your pooches general direction!
