Say I'm the only bee in your bonnet
Today the VBM and I went snowshoeing up on Mount Hood. We got a late start after sleeping until we woke up and various puttering around the house. The weather was overcast and warmish, but we went tromping up White River Canyon anyways, and our fun could not be ruined by 4647393736 other people mucking up the trail and making noises with their voices, and besmirching our view with their brightly colored clothing.
After a time we hiked up a reasonably sized hill. Even though I hate hills, I will trudge up them when they serve as a deterrent to other human beings. There, we were treated to a vast silence and fir-scented air and the roll and hush of the river down below. VBM then proceeded to remind me why he is a knight in shining goretex and the apple of my eye. He led me to the well of a snow covered tree, made us a bench in the snow, and dug his therma-rest out of his pack to make a dry seat. He then produced a magic jetboil stove, and fixed us some hot chocolate right there under that tree.
Sigh.
After that there were hamburgers and mustachioed cowboys and horses with soft velvet noses.
My white down coat got dirty, but all in all, Stainsky had a great time. Thanks, VBM!

I am so lucky. Even though VBM is so hairy.
Stainsky, you look so cute in your yellow coat in the snow! Just sayin.
VBM is a very good dude. The good ones are hard to find, and you found one!
And I'm going to guess that hairy is one step down from furry, right?
I'm so glad you had such a fine day with your sweetie. Mmmmm... hot chocolate.
...make a little birdhouse in your soul
